Oral Hygiene
When you visit our dental practice for regular examinations, we will thoroughly clean your teeth, a preventative dental treatment that will help reduce your risk of gum disease. Hardened plaque, a substance called tartar is removed from your teeth in a process called scaling and polishing. The tartar is scaled or scraped from your tooth surfaces before teeth are selectively polished as a smoother surface makes it harder for plaque to adhere while brightening up your smile.
Your hygiene appointments are a good opportunity to receive personalised instructions on how to improve your oral care at home. We can show you how to brush and floss more effectively and often just a few simple changes to your current techniques can help improve results. We can also discuss the best tools to use and if flossing is awkward then we can show you alternative tools to use.
Please just ask us if you would like some oral hygiene advice and help as patient education is very important to us and forms a big part of preventative dentistry. You can call us on (02) 6291 5533 or visit us at 2/26 Benham St, Chisholm ACT 2905.
