Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a great treatment for saving badly infected teeth and Dr Gagan is very experienced in providing this service. You may require root canal treatment if you have tooth decay or a badly damaged tooth and where mouth bacteria have been able to infect the pulp right in the centre of the tooth. The pulp contains nerves and blood vessels and it can be very painful if it becomes infected. Removing the pulp relieves pain, saving the tooth from extraction and a fully developed tooth can function perfectly well without a pulp.

What to Expect During Treatment

If you are already a patient at Vogue Family Dental then you will already know that Dr Gagan is an extremely gentle dentist and she will ensure you experience minimal discomfort during this procedure. Your root canal treatment should feel little different from having a filling. The pulp and all infected tissues in the central part of your tooth will be thoroughly removed and the area is sterilised before being sealed. Dr Gagan may choose to temporarily fill the tooth to ensure all the infection is cleared up before the tooth is permanently restored, usually with a crown to protect it.
